I posted a message yesterday and it seems to have disappeared or maybe it went into the ether. I will try one last time. I am having heap of fun making soundscapes over our small farm.

Can I please add a video somehow, any help on that gratefully received or would i need the commercial version?

I research making games using computer games mobile devices etc for training. This app looks very useful.

Excellent stuff.

Hi - its good to see that you are having fun.

It is not possible to add video with the version currently available. However, we aim to release a new version that does incorporate video at the start of the new year. Hope you can wait until then

Thanks for that Richard,

Yesterday I started using another app on my mobile phone. Took half the day to get the gps to work in it. Apparently I can trigger videos on that. Dunno how yet.

Now I wonder if a class set of mobiles is cheaper than a class set of pda?

I see that you have
<script>
<media>
<audio name=”harp” url="http://myserver.com/harp.mp3" />
</media>
<layout>
<region name=”r1”>
<circle x="358543.00" y="172523.00" radius="20.00" />
<onEnter>
<playMedia media="media$harp" volume="100" loop="true"/>
</onEnter>
<onExit>
<stopMedia media="media$harp"/>
</onExit>
</region>
</layout>
</script>

in your paper. Just trying to hack it a bit.

hrn.Show();
<ImageObjects>
<ImageObject.Name=hrn url="http://www.flickr.com/photos/44659884@N00/274245732/">
<Filename

OK stupid mess I have no idea how to do it says expected line 2 after ImageObject. I want to open picture through web when I enter circle.

Tried adding Windows Media Player .dll but not happy. OK so daft but you never know what hooks have been left in there.

I will read some more of your papers Smile

Brian,

not sure that I can answer all your points but here's a few points that might be relevant:

* the forthcoming release will support HTML pages and web access as well as video
* a Windows Mobile phone client will emerge soon after (or maybe at the same time as) the forthcoming release
* the script file format has changed since the paper you are reading. Try looking at the .esl file produced by the editor

Thanks for that, I look forward to the new version. As Windows I take it that is for smartphones then.

I did change the volume of the sounds in the script , as it was deafening with earphones at 100.

Editor is very easy to use I think the most fun would be getting year seven/eight students to make their own scapes. They would have to use my pda though- hmm do I trust them not to fight over it? I would have to make the map though, that is too much for the youngsters.

They enjoyed Kahootz where you can make sort of 3d movies scenes with sounds etc. It is about the same level of difficulty. Your app would be more fun with fart sounds etc check out Kahootz. Australian app.

Showed some of the students' work at a conf a while back. Was well received. Anyway back to the PhD- must write some more.
